Humble Beginnings

Even from it’s humble beginnings, Phoenix has leapt and bound to becoming a large metropolitan area and major economic player in today’s day in age. In 1881, the city was incorporated into a municipality and from there sped onto becoming one of North America’s most well managed cities and one whose residents take pride in both their occupations as well as communities. The sprawl that is usually associated with the Phoenix Metropolitan area evolved out of the merging of smaller, satellite communities with the likes of others adjacent to Phoenix. The major players in industry here include the five c’s: cotton, cattle, climate, copper and citrus who along with the military presence in the previous three air force bases gave character to the region and steered the direction of growth.
